That it’s possible

"You probably saw some bad things?" - "Do they keep you awake at night?" - "It’s quite a mess in Africa, isn’t it?" - "They brought it on themselves, didn’t they? It’s always something there. [...]

To me, such questions are posed by someone who walks into the sea and continues looking for a solid footing "toe by toe".

To me, it’s about losing everything. How could I list or prioritise these things? How can I put them in words?

A one-way ticket
What would I give to believe again that riding a bicycle to school in the morning is self-evident? What would I give to believe again that it is not a problem to see people as a group?

What would I give to erase the "confusion" caused by war and fogging up my mind?

What would I give to forget that it’s possible?
  • It’s quite simple for anyone experiencing violence at home or at work.
  • It’s quite simple for anyone who lost a dear one and did not have the opportunity to say goodbye.
  • It’s quite simple for anyone who is reminded of the impossibility of his mission as a UN blue helmet in the Balkan.
  • It’s quite simple for anyone who no longer has the strength to get up in the morning.
  • It’s quite simple for anyone who was "singled out" for something she isn’t.

You know that the possibility exists.

Sometimes things just "happen". You cannot be a spectator, you cannot rise above or ignore it. You "live" it and it stays with you for the rest of your life.

You simply know that it’s possible.
